About me
Before joining CNN, Piper Hudspeth Blackburn covered antitrust and telecommunications policy at Law360.
She began her career with the Associated Press reporting on Kentucky politics and issues affecting Appalachia. Her time in the Bluegrass State honed her ability to handle diverse stories with nuance whether they were about abortion, immigration, racial injustice, or the attempted assassination of a local mayoral candidate.
Her work has appeared in various outlets including the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and The Texas Tribune. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time at the movies, taking photos or rooting for USC Football.
She received a B.A. in journalism and history from the University of Southern California in 2019 and an M.S.J. from Northwestern University in 2020.
